Bois d'Amour Guesthouse

In a huge, beautiful and well-kept tropical garden on the island of La Digue you'll find these 3 well-maintained and spacious wooden chalets/bungalows. Two of them consist of two separate units, each with fan-ventilated bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen (with wall safe) and a big terrace.

Another, slightly smaller bungalow features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and terrace.

Laundry facilities are available for 100 SCR per load.

The Bois d'Amour is what we call "La Digue for advanced travellers". Why? Because on this small island (5 km long, 3 km wide) you'll be roaming the small pathways and roads by bicycle every day to explore the island. So you're never far from a beach anyway! Staying right at the beach is really not a must on La Digue.

On the other hand, here in the garden of Bois d'Amour Guesthouse you can enjoy the relaxing quietness of the place - with all the tropical flowers, birds and fruit trees like avocadoes, bananas, guavas and papayas, of course. The owner even has two giant turtles ("Harry" and "Sally") which you are very welcome to feed and photograph.

The traditional way these wooden bungalows are built and the airy design allow the breezes in and so air conditioning is unnecessary here. The owners have decided to go with nature here, which also means that insecticides are very sparingly used and only if absolutely necessary. Hot water is produced by solar energy panels.

Both the rich and varied breakfast and the traditional creole dinners are excellent here.
