In the relaxed and beautiful south of Mahe you'll find Anse Takamaka. Right here, only a few steps from the water's edge, the charming hotel/guesthouse Chez Batista welcomes you. It's perfect for a quiet relaxation holiday or for those who wish to discover the nature's beauty of the island's south.
3 slightly elevated bungalows with 6 spacious and modern "Superior" rooms all come with private verandah. They have a size of about 31 m2.
The "Standard" rooms are a little smaller in size (approx. 27 m2) and set back in the garden. However, they are even closer to the powdery, white beach which is only a few steps from any of the rooms.
The "Mini Suites" offer a view of the beach, are spacious (45 m2) and have a private jacuzzi on the terrace.
The new Ocean View Villa is perched on the rocks and offers a truly spectacular view across the bay and onto the beach.
The villa has its own small swimming pool. In this villa, there are 4 room categories:
"Junior Suites", "Senior Suite", "Executive Suite" and a family or "presidential" suite.
The beach of Anse Takamaka is perfect for lazing and swimming (see pictures). There is excellent snorkelling too, right in front of Chez Batista's Hotel.
All rooms have private veranda, air conditioning bathroom/WC/bidet, hair dryer, IDD telephone, ceiling ventilator, minibar with fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Flat screen TV and hair dryer are available in Superior rooms and Mini Suites only.
Directly on the beach, the rustic restaurant with its natural atmosphere has a floor of beach sand. Sometimes the food here is fantastic, sometimes it's not so great. This is why we offer Chez Batista's on B&B basis only. You may order lunch and dinner à la carte (Sunday and Monday evenings the restaurant is closed). The bar is always open, serving ice cold beers, freshly prepared tropical fruit juices, cocktails, etc.

Free WiFi in the reception/restaurant area. For prepaid broadband connections in the rooms, there are prepaid cards available at the reception.
Note and personal view:
The location of Chez Batista directly at the stunning Takamaka Beach is simply fantastic. However we see it as our duty to let you know that the rooms here are sometimes not up to usual standards and the service leaves a bit to be desired, too. Those who can live with the shortcomings here and there and see the natural beauty of the surroundings as the main reason for coming here will have an excellent time. Others will prefer to stay at close-by places like e.g. Takamaka View, Villa Gazebo etc. These places do not have the privilege of being directly at the beach, but they are not far from it either.
Having said that, we would like to emphasize that with the new management in place since the end of 2014, things have considerably improved at Chez Batista's!
From May through July there may be large waves coming in from the southeast at times, making swimming/snorkelling impossible.
